Seniors and Special Needs

Vince is an awesome 3 year old who appears to be a Corgi mix. We are not sure what he is mixed with. He looks like so many different dogs. But for sure he is adorable! He is very sweet and easy going. Vince is special needs as it was discovered he is heartworm positive and he will be undergoing treatment for the next several weeks. He is not available for adoption until treatment is complete and he is cleared by the veterinarian. We sure could use some help with this boy's vet bills. If you would like to donate to Vince's treatment, please click on the donate tab on the left side of this page. Then you can click on "canine vet bills". You will be able to note that you want your donation to support Vince in the "add special instructions to the seller" section. You can also donate by personal check to Highland Animal Shelter or contact Horseshoe Lake Animal Hospital (Collinsville, IL 618-344-7949) to pay towards his bill directly. Thank you!!!

Blanca is a beautiful white terrier/pit mix, who is approximately 10 years old. This sweet girl requires a very special home. She would do best as the only pet. She does not like cats. She also was not good with other dogs in the past, but since she is mellowing with age, she might do ok with another dog. Meet and greets would be necessary to ensure they would be friends. She would need a fenced yard. She also has skin allergies that require daily medication and a special diet. She is such a sweetheart, she loves hugs and kisses, and loves to play in water. She adores people and would make a wonderful companion in the right home. As Blanca has been hard to place, she can be adopted as part of our Shelter Assist program, in which her vet visits and medical care would be covered by the shelter, when coordinated with the shelter manager and our primary veterinarian. We would love to see this very special girl have a loving home.
